Tuition Waivers

The Department has a limited number of tuition waivers for undergraduate
and graduate students.  These waivers usually require the
performance of tasks such as grading or assisting with the instruction
of a laboratory course.

Graduate Teaching Assistantships

Graduate teaching assistantships consist of tuition remission, a
monthly stipend (11 months) and health benefits.  Duties usually involve
assistance with teaching of laboratory courses and grading.  A
limited number of these assistantships are available each year and
they are typically limited to one year per student.  Preference
is given to incoming graduate students without any other form of
financial aid.

Graduate Research Assistantships

Graduate research assistantships are provided by individual faculty
members for assistance in carrying out specific research projects.  These
assistantships consist of tuition remission, a monthly stipend (11 months)
and health benefits.  The length of the assistantship and the duties
involved are by agreement with the sponsoring faculty member.  For
information, interested students are directed to faculty members
in their area of interest.
