Bridge Design Process: From RFP through Construction

The design process for a typical state or city owned bridge, from the
Request for Proposal phase through design and into construction will be
discussed. The discussion of the design phase will include some of the
many challenges encountered when designing a bridge. The construction
phase will include mention of Request for Information (RFI’s) from
contractors and change orders. Actual projects will be used as examples.
