ASCE Student Chapter once again recognized for national excellence
The University of Hawaii at Mānoa’s American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Chapter received three prestigious awards in 2021 from the ASCE national organization for the excellent activities, achievements and services demonstrated in the previous year: the Student Chapter Certificate of Commendation, the Letter of Significant Improvement, and the Letter of Honorable Mention for its outstanding activities, as recorded in the 2020 Chapter annual report. The latter recognition is received by only the top third of all Student Organizations. The Chapter’s accomplishments reflect the enthusiasm and hard work of its student officers and members, as well as its dedicated advisors, which include civil engineering professors Dr. Roger Babcock and Dr. Oceana Francis.
“Our students work very hard and have a super fun time doing it,” said Dr. Babcock. “They are a great group, dedicated to the missions of ASCE and the UH Mānoa College of Engineering.”
Congratulations to all!
